Gionee yesterday unveiled two new devices, the M6 and M6 Plus at a launch event in China.
The M6 is a 5.5-inch device with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core processor and runs Gionee’s Amigo OS v3.5 on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. RAM is at 4GB while onboard storage is at 64GB/128GB.
In terms of camera, the M6 sports a 13MP rear camera with a single LED Flash, and a 8MP selfie snapper. The device also ships with a huge 5000mAh battery.
The M6 Plus is very much the same as its younger brother. It is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor and packs a 6-inch display. In the imaging department, the M6 Plus has a 16MP primary unit with dual-LED flash, and an 8MP front shooter. The battery inside it is a 6020mAh unit.
Both devices support reverse charging and have a built-in encryption chip to secure user data in addition to the fingerprint sensor placed on the home button. Sadly, the chip would only be available in units sold in China – global versions would only ship with the fingerprint sensor.
