Samsung took the wraps off its much-hyped and long awaited Note 7 device a few days ago. Was it worth the hype? Let’s check out what the device has to offer.
The Note 7 inherits a lot of features from the S7 edge. It packs a 5.7-inch dual-curved, Quad-HD Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5. The Note 7 is also water resistant (IP68 rating) and has a rounded back so it fits comfortably in the hand.
The flagship is powered by Samsung’s octa-core Exynos 8890 processor (a snapdragon 820 chipset will be used in some regions). RAM is at 4GB while internal storage is at 64GB and expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
Just like the S7 Edge, the device sports a 12MP dual pixel camera with PDAF, OIS and f/1.7 lens. A 5MP camera takes cares of selfies.
Android 6.0 comes pre-installed on the device but it can be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat in the future. Juice is supplied by a 3500mAh battery with wireless and fast charging capabilities.
And the S Pen? Its better and finer. It is now water and dust resistant. It comes with a thinner tip and recognises 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. Other features includes a quick translation tool and a gif creator.
Aside the fingerprint reader, the Note 7 also features an iris scanner for improved security. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. The device will be available in Blue Coral, Black Onyx, Silver Titanium, and Gold Platinum flavors.
