Ever come across a language that you were unable to understand? Whether its a sign, a manual or a note, you don’t need to be stuck ever again. As long as you have a smartphone that runs on Android or iOS, Google Translate will come to your rescue.
All you have to do is:
1. Download and install Google Translate on your device.
2. Launch the app and set up the language – select your primary language and language you want to translate.
3. Click on the Finished button when you are done.
Now there are two ways you can use your camera to translate text in an image:
#1 Instant Camera Translation
To translate text instantly with your camera, you have to download an offline translation file for the language you want to translate. This mode supports only 29 languages.
Tap on the camera button and point your camera to the text you want to translate.
If you’ve downloaded the language and it’s available for instant translation, the text will be instantly translated on your screen.
#2 Camera Mode
For the camera Mode, you need to be connected to the internet and then take a picture of the text you want to translate. This mode supports 37 languages.
Tap on the camera button and take a picture of the text you want to translate. Highlight the words you want to translate with your finger or click on Select All to highlight all the words. Then click on the arrow at the top-right to get the translation.
And that’s it. You don’t need to be stuck again anytime you come across a language that you cannot understand.
